Flowers and Plants
Wow, I'm thrilled to share my latest creative endeavour with you! I've been hard at work using Adobe Illustrator to craft a stunning series of backgrounds and illustrations for the Flowers and Plants project. Using my expert skills in vector design, I've created a range of gorgeous flowers and plants with vibrant textures that leap off the page and into your imagination.
But that's not all! I've also utilised the Generative Recolour feature to produce a range of eye-catching versions of each illustration. From the trippy disco lights to the yellow submarine, each design is bursting with unique personality and flair. And the use of light and contrast in each piece is truly breathtaking.
In addition to the illustrations, I've created three stunning backgrounds that showcase my favourite flowers and plants in a visually stunning way. The mix of poppies, daisies, and succulents is both balanced and dynamic, and I've even created a pattern using the Make a Pattern feature that allows for easy scaling and perfect placement.
Overall, this project has been an absolute joy to work on, and I'm thrilled to share it with you. Get ready to be blown away by the beauty and creativity of the Flowers and Plants series!
Surrey Street Market
I'm thrilled to share that I've created a stunning series of digital posters that showcase the vibrant Surrey Street Market in Croydon, UK. These posters beautifully capture the essence of the local community and the lively atmosphere of the street market.
I took inspiration from the reference images on the internet and created rough sketches to bring my vision to life. The images were then scanned using Adobe Capture, and I used Adobe Illustrator to vectorise them and add typography to the poster layouts. The posters were then exported to Adobe Photoshop, where I added colour and textures to create a varied and eye-catching colour scheme.
To give the posters a unique touch, I designed a Surrey Street logo using typography and geometric shapes. The logo is structured in an oval shape with a thin border, and I have three versions of it- with colour, black with a hint of colour, and an all-white logo.
And that's not all - I also created 11 stunning backgrounds that feature the Surrey Street logo in various patterns and colour combinations. These backgrounds add depth and character to the posters and make them stand out even more.
Overall, I'm incredibly proud of the work I've done, and I can't wait for you to see it all come together.
Other selected completed work
The Ugly Duckling collection is a series of patterns with my ugly duckling motif. I created six variations of the motif. I have used Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create the pattern layouts. I added various colours and flourishes to create distinct backgrounds.
I have created an illustration for the Football collection. I have used the colours and patterns from the backgrounds. I used different colours and overlapping circles to create a large composition. I created the backgrounds using Adobe Illustrator and used the recolour feature.
The Snowflake collection is a series of illustrations and patterns that I have completed. I used mark-making from the Frost illustration (from Inktober 2023) to add texture. I added the textures on the snowflakes and created small ones.
I also extended some other collections from other Inktober drawings. I have created backgrounds using the Phoenix. I used the Scratchy illustration to create the Scratch Marks collection by adding a background layer on top of the mark-making. For the Spicey Hot Peppers series, I created 8 drawings and patterns to accompany the original illustration from Inktober 2023. I have used different colour schemes with the Generative Recolour feature.
What am I currently working on?
I'm super excited to tell you about my latest project - the 7-Day Email Drawing Challenge! For the past week, I've been honing my digital drawing skills and techniques to create a series of sketches and drawings that showcase my signature style.
Out of all the drawings I've done, my absolute favourite is a comic strip that's based on my everyday life. It was a challenge at first, but as I got into the creative process, I found myself enjoying it as a means of exploring the struggles of daily life.
Overall, it's been such a rewarding experience to see how much I've improved and how I can apply these techniques to my future work. I can't wait to see where this journey will take me!
